Factoring out the greatest common factor

One of the common ways of factoring a polynomial is by factoring out the greatest common factor. In order to do this, you must first find the GCF.
Then you want to divide the polynomial by the GCF.
Separate the GCF from the rest of the function and put it outside the parentheses while the rest of the function is inside of the parenthesis.
Finally, you should be left with a factored polynomial as your answer.
